A field of 14 women lined up to play for the Women’s Championship Singles on a cool Saturday morning.
It was good to see our Juniors playing as they played great bowls and were only beaten by experience. They will need to be watched in future.
There was fierce competition in most of the games with some very close scores.
After three games there were 7 qualifiers:
- Irene had the bye
- Bella defeated Elisabeth
- Bronwyn defeated Erica
- Heather defeated Alice
In the semifinals:
- Irene defeated Heather
- Bella defeated Bronwyn
The final was a really tight game with the lead changing several times but Irene managed to prevail over Bella.
Irene will now represent the club at the Centre Champion of Champions in April.
