These events were played on 7th and 8th September 2024, and we had 8 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams entered.
They competed on a blustery cold Saturday with 4 men’s teams and 3 women’s teams qualifying with 2 wins out of 3 games. Sunday dawned much more pleasantly. The semi finals were amazing with very close games and all competitors bowling really well. Two winners triumphing in the final end and one needing an extra end.
The finals were hotly contested with Laurie Field, Norman Annand and Brian Thompson defeating Brian Cooper, Phil Stirrat and Trevor Turnbull.
In the women’s match – Ronnie Crone, Alice Spicer and Linda Moy overcame the spirited defence of Jan Lilico, Heather Stempa and Clare Hack.
