The re-scheduled Mixed Fours took place 28th and 29th September, the first day was a mixture of sunshine, clouds and showers. Play stopped a couple of times for rain but the three qualifying rounds were completed. There were six qualifying teams for Sunday’s post section play.
Sunday was a sunny day with a cool wind at times.
The quarter final game between Les Galloway and Valda Anderson’s teams had a thrilling conclusion with the score at eight all, then Valda played a wonderful shot to take the jack off the opposition bowl to get the winning point.
There was a high standard of play in all the games and especially in the final between Jan Lilico and Grahame Law’s teams. Jan Lilico, Graham Williams, Phil Stirrat and Mary Judd were the winners, a great game to watch.
