A gala of invited teams of fours was held at the Waikanae Bowling Club to celebrate the opening of their just completed Tiger Turf green yesterday, Thursday 26th of September.
Our team of Liz Galloway, Duncan Mann, Les Galloway & Grahame Law had a good win over Paraparaumu in the first game, but lost on the last end of the second game to the winning Waikanae team.
There was a lunch of pizzas provided by Harcourts and afternoon tea of savouries provided by Somerset Village so an excellent day was had by all.
The green played well and with a couple of stretches should be similar to ours.
