Over a beautifully sunny and wind free weekend the men played their Championship Triples. Some wonderful games were played and in the second round there were some interesting results which meant that 6 teams went into round 3 needing a win to advance. 7 teams qualified with Bob Liddall’s team getting the bye.
Rob Cotter, Duncan Mann and Phil Stirrat prevailed over Grahame Law, Graeme Mathie and Richard Cowles.
It was an absorbing match played in excellent spirit with some fantastic bowls being played by everyone. It came down to the wire with the score being 12-13 to Rob going into the last end. Grahame’s team drew two shots until Rob put a shot that took the lead. Well done to everyone for playing such a wonderful game that kept the crowd entertained.
