The Nulook Women’s Open Triples were played on October 12th and 13th at the Waikanae and Levin Bowling Clubs.

Eighteen teams entered the competition, and the qualifying games were played at both clubs. After Saturday’s play there were eight qualifiers who played the quarter finals, semi finals and the final on Sunday at the Levin Bowling Club.

The weather was mainly fine on Saturday, but Sunday was cloudy and unfortunately rain started when the final had nearly been completed. The two finalist teams – Waitarere and a Composite team elected to carry on playing in quite heavy rain to finish the game.

There was a very high standard of play making the final thrilling to watch. The Composite team of Timeri Sanders, Teo Thorenson and Mareikura Bevan eventually beat Waitarere’s Annette Piper, Janet Olliver and Gloria Michael, 17-10.

Bowls Kapiti Coast Board representative John Michael congratulated all the finalists and Nulook Window’s Frances Burgess presented the trophy and prizes.
