The Mixed Fours Championship was held on 16th August with 14 teams playing in sunny and warm conditions. Competition was fierce and 8 teams qualified to play on Sunday, the 17th.
The weather was cooler but the forecast rain stayed away for the three rounds that were completed. Once again games were closely fought and there were some great tussles.
In the semi finals Michael Heather’s team overcame Grahame Law’s in a game that was definitely one of two halves. Grahame’s team got off to a great start but Michael’s team hung in there and caught up so that it was all down to the last end which Michael’s team won in a cliff hanger. In the other semi-final Adam Batty’s team played with steady consistency to take out John Dunlop’s team.
The final was tense with both teams playing some wonderful and entertaining bowls. Once again the consistency of Adam’s team prevailed, they all played well as a team eventually defeating Michael’s team.
