The double oven the kitchen has been a problem for the kitchen volunteers for some time now, mostly due to the door not sealing properly and therefore not being able to reach and hold a set temperature.
The executive committee recently agreed to replace this ageing oven, which was second hand when the Club acquired it many years ago. Mary van der Velden suggested two single ovens on special from Bunnings to replace the double oven, as this is cheaper and offers more flexibility than a double oven.
Jim Winter, our maintenance extraordinaire, removed the old oven, enlarged the hole and added the necessary woodwork to hold the new ovens. An electrician sorted the wiring outlets and the new ovens were installed.
