In yesterday’s Year 1 & 2 Junior Singles event, a freaky bowl incident occurred. During the game between Diane Dunlop and Brian Hoy, this sequence of events happened:
- Diane’s opening bowl ended up very close to the jack
- one of Diane’s other bowls became the back bowl you see in the photo
- one of Brian’s bowls pushed the jack right up to Diane’s back bowl, so she still had the shot
- Brian’s final bowl knocked his earlier bowl, causing it to fall over towards the jack, which pushed the jack onto Diane’s bowl, raising it slightly, and then all movement ceased!
- the opposing forces of the two bowls perfectly counterbalanced
- the net result was a draw – 0 points each!
This is certainly not something you see everyday.
