Both events were played on 21st and 22nd of September, and we had nine men’s teams and seven women’s teams entered.
The weather on Saturday was gorgeous, a sunny spring day which couldn’t have been nicer. Five of the men’s teams and four of the women’s team qualified for play on Sunday, however Sundays weather left a bit to desired. Nevertheless the troops soldiered on through the drizzle and light showers, briefly escaping under cover during a downpour.
After the downpour the remainder of the games moved from the Tiger turf to the Dales, where the standard of bowling remained high.
The finals were in both games were hard fought. In the men’s game Graeme Mathie and Keven Bray overcame Martin Howse and Chris Hogan.
In the women’s match Ralda Adams and Gay Calderwood defeated Bronwyn McMahon and Elisabeth Glinkowska.
