On 22nd November the Women’s Championship Fours were held. The weather was perfect for bowling for a change – no rain or wind. Only four teams were entered and therefore a round robin tournament was held:
Round One
- Ronnie Crone played Jan Lilico and Jan won 15-11
- Erica Whittaker played Diane Short and Erica won 17-6
Round Two
- Ronnie Crone played Erica Whittaker and Erica won 16-6
- Jan Lilico played Diane Short and Jan won 19-11
Round Three
Jan Lilico’s team of Christine Ryan, Karen Muir and Bella Law played against Erica Whittaker, Heather Stempa, Clare Hack and Gay Calderwood in the final round. A tight match ensued with ones being scored by alternative sides for the first 9 ends. Eventually though, Jan’s team slowly pulled ahead to take the game by four shots in a tense and enthralling game.

- Jan Lilico had three wins and therefore her team were winners of the Fours.
