Kathy and Laurie Field were recently part of a team of 20 New Zealand bowlers to take part in the ANZRI Bowls carnival in Bunbury Western Australia.
Games were played against sides from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia, some of which included state representatives.
Morning games consisted of singles, pairs, triples and fours and afternoons were test matches.
Although not winning the major trophy the team came home with one trophy and a runner up.
Australia and New Zealand Railways Institute Bowls has been played since 1952 and was originally for railway workers but now includes families and members of the Institutes.
Anyone who would like more details as to how they can play contact Laurie Field.
The next carnival will be in Wellington in 2028.
