Thirteen teams entered the Mixed Balloted Triples played on September 5th and 6th. The weather was kind to us on Saturday allowing a full day’s play in strong winds mainly from the west.
Sunday’s play started in cloudy and still windy conditions. The semi-final between Laurie Field and Ronnie Crone’s teams was a low scoring very close game with Ronnie’s team winning 8-7. The other semifinal between Brian Cooper and Wayne Judd’s teams was also exciting with Brian‘s team winning 16-6.
The final was played as the weather started to deteriorate and finished as the rain became steady. Brian Cooper, Chloe Eastham and Maurice Carter had a good win of 14-3 over Ronnie Crone, Norman Annand and John Calton.
This was our first event of the season and was a good way to start!
