Men’s Junior Pairs

On Saturday, 9th May, four teams competed in the Junior Men’s Pairs Championship in a Round Robin competition.

The teams were very evenly matched which was reflected in the scores. During round 1 the weather was overcast and a little wet towards the end. Both games went down to the wire and were won/loss in the final end by only one or two shots.

The second round was affected more by the weather as the wind picked up and altered the draw line of the bowls at times. Again, the results were very close with the final end being crucial. Excellent bowls were played by all competitors in a tense but friendly atmosphere.

At the end of the second round two teams had won two games each and were drawn to play each other.

The score of the games is the third round did not reflect how well everyone played.

After a battle Don Newton and Steve Tustin overcame Richard Cowles and Brett Connell.

Congratulations to everyone who played.
